The Snooker facilities of The Panmure Club are fantastic. The Table is very well looked after and is the only table we know of where the usage is not metered. This means you can play snooker in Carnoustie as long as you like without paying a penny. There is a volountary donations tin in the snooker room, all donations from this tin go to maintaining the table and equipment.
With a choice of around 20 house cues you dont need to own a cue to play, everything is there. Furthermore there are billiards and pool balls if you wish to try your hand at another table sport.
The club have mutiple in house Snooker & Billiards competitions every year – all friendly, nothing too serious, and there are prizes to be won.
Ocassionally we invite other clubs to compete in friendly Snooker & Dominoes competitions, and we visit them for the return leg.
Check out the Carnoustie Snooker League here.
My son and I are looking for a place to have a game of snooker, and were wondering if there’s space at your club for a couple of new members. Could you please send information about your club(price etc).I live in Arbroath, but my son lives in carnoustie. Thanks E Kiddie
Hi Ewan, thanks for getting in touch. The comments on this site are not monitored as much as the contact form which is the reason it has taken a bit longer than usual to get back to you. Prices are currently £90 per year, drinks are cheap (cheaper than in the pub anyway) and there is no fee for playing on the table (just turn the light on) so it is a great little cost effective club to be a member of. We also have club competitions and members really do have a mixed level of ability, its all about fun more than competition really. Obviously we are closed just now, however if you are still looking to join (you’d both be most welcome), then please use the contact form and supply me with your number and email. One of us on the committee will give you a call/text when the club is opening up again. I could also give you a couple of forms to fill in so that’s done and dusted (all members need to be approved by the committee) – not sure how it works during lockdown but we will figure something out.
Anyway, feel free to use the contact us form, I can email you the member request forms, and we will be in touch when we can open again. Its worth noting that when your form is in for review you are able to use the club facilities before needing to pay your membership, so, a few weeks of club access are on the house to begin with, therefore, the sooner you get the forms in (and once open), the sooner you can come down for a game or two.
All the best,
Richard
